My new favorite thing is a veggie calzone made with Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free pizza crust mix. You can put literally anything your heart desires inside. This one has spinach, mushrooms, soy chorizo, tomato sauce, garlic and mozzarella. Don’t be intimidated by the thought of making dough from scratch - it’s so easy!
Make it vegan by excluding the cheese and replace the eggs with a combination of 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal and 6 tablespoons water.
You can find Bob’s Red Mill mixes pretty much in any supermarket across the US if you look in the baking or natural food aisle. If not, you can buy them online at www.bobsredmill.com.

I had a dream last night (or maybe this morning) that I literally went hog wild and ate tons of meat. I sense the rumblings of a million sexual jokes starting… now.

But seriously, I think it’s because my mom made steak last night and it triggered something in my brain. All I know is that I woke up feeling extremely guilty about something I didn’t even do. I’m such a weirdo.

Do any other veggies dream about meat or am I the only one? Dreams are so bizarre.

Guess who’s got two thumbs, loves to nap and just signed up for buzzfeedfood's newsletter? This girl right here!

And if your heart desires, you can too! If only you could see the bookmarks on my Chrome browser, about half of them are buzzfeed-related food posts. It’s a sickness, y’all, what can I say?

This is based on very old, unfortunately incorrect data. However, to quote Jeff Novick, RD, “As you can see, the steak clearly wins on protein. However, remember, a plant based diet based predominately on a variety of minimally-processed lower-fat plant foods low in SOS, is more then adequate in protein and all the essential amino acids and that is the main point in regard to protein. Such a diet is also void of cholesterol, lower in fat, saturated fat, and rich in fiber and nutrients, including phytochemicals, and has been proven to prevent and even reverse disease, even in those seriously ill.”
The point being, protein is not an issue for those of us with a plant-based diet. Nutrient-dense plants are an excellent, healthy diet and everyone can stop worrying about where we get our protein.
